Shipping policy

Last Updated: 2 October 2026

At TeakCrafts, our furniture is generally manufactured after an order is placed. We do not ordinarily maintain ready-made furniture stock for immediate dispatch.

This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains our manufacturing, dispatch, shipping, delivery, inspection and transit-damage procedures.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable Indian law.

1. Shipping Coverage

TeakCrafts delivers to serviceable locations across India.

Delivery availability may depend on:

  • Delivery PIN code.

  • Road connectivity.

  • Accessibility of the delivery address.

  • Product dimensions and weight.

  • Availability of a suitable logistics partner.

  • Other operational or transportation considerations.

Remote or difficult-to-service locations may require additional freight, handling or special delivery arrangements.

Where reasonably possible, any additional charges applicable to the customer's delivery location will be communicated before the order is finalized or before the relevant additional service is arranged.

2. Made-to-Order Manufacturing

TeakCrafts furniture is generally made to order.

Manufacturing begins after the order is successfully placed, payment is confirmed in accordance with the applicable payment terms, and any required product or customization specifications have been confirmed.

Depending on the product, an order may pass through:

  • Manufacturing.

  • Finishing.

  • Quality inspection.

  • Protective packaging.

  • Dispatch.

  • Transportation.

  • Final delivery.

The product specifications and any customization requirements agreed with the customer will be used for manufacturing.

3. Manufacturing & Delivery Timeline – Within 45 Days

Under normal operating conditions, the standard manufacturing and delivery commitment for TeakCrafts orders is within 45 days from the date of confirmed order, unless a different timeline is specifically communicated and agreed with the customer.

The 45-day period may include:

  • Manufacturing.

  • Finishing.

  • Quality inspection.

  • Packaging.

  • Dispatch.

  • Transportation.

  • Delivery to the customer's serviceable delivery location.

An order may be completed and delivered earlier than 45 days.

The actual timeline may vary depending on the product, order quantity, customization requirements, manufacturing schedule, delivery destination and other relevant circumstances.

The phrase “within 45 days” represents our standard maximum normal timeline and does not mean that delivery will necessarily occur on the 45th day.

Where a different delivery timeline is specifically agreed with the customer, that agreed timeline will apply.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available to the customer under applicable law in relation to delayed or non-delivery.

4. Customized & Made-to-Order Products

Eligible TeakCrafts furniture may be customized according to available options and agreed specifications, including where applicable:

  • Dimensions.

  • Configuration.

  • Upholstery.

  • Finish.

  • Colour.

  • Design details.

  • Other agreed specifications.

Customized products are also intended to be manufactured and delivered within the standard 45-day maximum normal timeline, unless a different timeline is specifically communicated to and agreed with the customer before production begins.

Customers should carefully verify all agreed specifications before production begins.

Once manufacturing has commenced, customer-requested alterations or cancellations may not be possible or may involve additional costs.

Return, cancellation and refund eligibility for customized or made-to-order products will be governed by the applicable TeakCrafts Return, Refund & Warranty Policy and applicable consumer law.

5. Shipping Charges

Shipping or freight charges, where applicable, may depend on:

  • Delivery PIN code.

  • Product dimensions and weight.

  • Order quantity.

  • Packaging requirements.

  • Transportation method.

  • Accessibility of the destination.

  • Special handling requirements.

Applicable shipping charges will be displayed during checkout or communicated to the customer before the order is finalized where a separate freight quotation is required.

Any additional service or special-handling charges identified after ordering will be communicated to the customer before the relevant additional service is provided, where reasonably possible.

6. Furniture Packaging

TeakCrafts takes reasonable precautions to protect furniture during transportation.

Depending on the product and destination, packaging may include:

  • Protective wrapping.

  • Foam protection.

  • Corner protection.

  • Corrugated material.

  • Wooden protection or crating.

  • Other suitable protective materials.

Customers should take reasonable care while removing packaging.

Sharp tools should not be used directly against furniture, upholstery, polish, glass or finished surfaces because this may cause accidental damage.

7. Delivery Address & Access Responsibility

Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery information, including:

  • Customer name.

  • Delivery address.

  • PIN code.

  • Telephone number.

  • Any relevant delivery instructions.

Before ordering large furniture, customers should reasonably ensure that the product can enter the property and reach its intended location.

Customers are encouraged to check:

  • Main entrance dimensions.

  • Doorways.

  • Corridors.

  • Staircases.

  • Elevators/lifts.

  • Room entrances.

  • Other relevant access points.

Where delivery cannot be completed solely because the furniture cannot pass through the available access points or because of restrictions at the customer's premises that were not disclosed before dispatch, additional reasonable re-delivery, storage, special lifting, dismantling or handling charges may apply.

Any such charges will be communicated where applicable.

8. Upper-Floor Delivery & Special Handling

Standard delivery does not automatically include:

  • Crane services.

  • Special lifting equipment.

  • Dismantling.

  • Manual carrying to upper floors where special arrangements are required.

  • Modification of the customer's premises.

Where a suitable lift is available, its use may remain subject to building rules, product dimensions and the logistics provider's operational policies.

Customers should inform TeakCrafts before dispatch if the delivery location has unusual access restrictions or requires special handling.

Where additional paid services are required, applicable charges will be communicated where reasonably possible before those services are arranged.

9. Inspection at Delivery

Customers are encouraged to inspect the external packaging and delivered furniture as soon as reasonably possible.

If the packaging appears severely damaged, crushed, torn, wet or otherwise compromised, customers should photograph or record its condition before removing the packaging where practical.

Customers are also encouraged, where reasonably possible, to record an unboxing video showing:

  • The unopened package.

  • The opening process.

  • The condition of the furniture after opening.

Photographs and videos can help TeakCrafts investigate transit-damage claims and coordinate with the logistics provider.

An unboxing video is helpful but is not, by itself, a mandatory condition for exercising any statutory right or remedy available under applicable law.

10. Transit Damage

If a product arrives with apparent transit damage, customers should contact TeakCrafts as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, so that the issue can be documented and investigated promptly.

Where available, please provide:

  • Order number.

  • Customer name.

  • Registered phone number.

  • Photographs of the outer packaging.

  • Photographs or video of the damaged area.

  • Full photographs of the product.

  • Shipping or consignment details.

  • Unboxing video, if available.

Customers should retain the original packaging until the matter has been reviewed where reasonably practical.

Depending on the nature of the damage, verification and applicable consumer rights, an appropriate remedy may include:

  • Repair.

  • Replacement of an affected component.

  • Replacement of the product.

  • Refund where appropriate.

  • Another suitable resolution.

Failure to notify TeakCrafts within 48 hours does not by itself waive any statutory rights or remedies otherwise available to the customer under applicable law.

11. Natural Characteristics of Teak Wood

Teak wood is a natural material.

Natural variations may occur in:

  • Grain.

  • Texture.

  • Knots.

  • Shade.

  • Colour.

  • Natural markings.

  • Tonal variation.

These natural characteristics contribute to the individual appearance of each piece and are not, by themselves, considered manufacturing defects or transit damage.

Handcrafted furniture may also display minor variations compared with photographs, samples or display pieces.

Product colour may appear slightly different due to photography, lighting, screen/display settings and natural variation in teak wood.

Natural variation does not exclude a genuine manufacturing defect or a material failure to meet specifications agreed for the order.

12. Installation & Assembly

Some TeakCrafts products may be delivered fully assembled, while others may require minor or professional assembly.

Installation or assembly is included only where it is expressly stated on the product page, order confirmation or otherwise agreed with the customer.

Unless specifically agreed, shipping charges do not automatically include:

  • Installation.

  • Wall mounting.

  • Electrical work.

  • Plumbing work.

  • Civil work.

  • Modification of the customer's property.

Customers should contact TeakCrafts before ordering if they require clarification regarding installation or assembly for a particular product.

13. Failed Delivery & Re-Delivery

A delivery attempt may be unsuccessful where, for example:

  • The customer or authorized recipient is unavailable.

  • The delivery address provided is incorrect or incomplete.

  • The customer cannot reasonably be contacted.

  • Access to the premises is unavailable.

  • Delivery is refused without a valid reason.

  • The furniture cannot enter the premises due to undisclosed access limitations.

  • Delivery cannot be completed because of circumstances at the customer's location.

Where a failed delivery results from circumstances attributable to the customer, reasonable additional storage, return transportation, special handling or re-delivery charges may apply.

Applicable charges will be communicated before re-delivery or another chargeable service is arranged, where reasonably possible.

14. Change of Delivery Address

Customers should contact TeakCrafts as soon as possible if the delivery address needs to be changed.

Before dispatch, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate an address change where operationally possible.

Once an order has been dispatched, changing the destination may not be possible.

Where a post-dispatch address change can be accommodated, it may result in:

  • Additional transportation charges.

  • Re-routing charges.

  • Additional handling.

  • Delivery delays.

Any applicable additional charges will be communicated where reasonably possible before the change is processed.

15. Order Tracking

Where tracking or consignment information is provided by the logistics partner, TeakCrafts may share it with the customer after dispatch.

Because large furniture may be transported through specialized logistics networks, real-time online tracking may not always be available.

Customers may contact TeakCrafts for reasonable assistance regarding shipment status.

16. Exceptional Delays

TeakCrafts aims to manufacture and deliver orders within 45 days under normal operating conditions, unless a different timeline has been specifically agreed with the customer.

Exceptional delays may occur because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters.

  • Severe weather.

  • Strikes.

  • Government restrictions.

  • Transportation disruptions.

  • Road closures.

  • Force-majeure events.

  • Other unforeseen circumstances beyond reasonable operational control.

Where a significant exceptional delay occurs, TeakCrafts will make reasonable efforts to inform the affected customer and provide an updated status or estimated timeline where reasonably possible.

Nothing in this section is intended to exclude or restrict any right or remedy available to consumers under applicable Indian law.

17. International Shipping

International shipping is not automatically available for every product or destination.

Customers outside India should contact TeakCrafts before placing an order to confirm whether international delivery is available for the selected product and destination.

Where international shipping is arranged, additional charges may include:

  • International freight.

  • Customs duties.

  • Import taxes.

  • Local taxes.

  • Customs-clearance charges.

  • Port or terminal charges.

  • Documentation charges.

  • Destination delivery charges.

  • Other charges imposed in the destination country.

Responsibility for such charges will be communicated or agreed where reasonably possible before the international order is finalized.

International delivery timelines may differ from the standard domestic delivery timeline and should be confirmed separately before ordering.

19. Consumer Rights

This Shipping & Delivery Policy is intended to explain the shipping, manufacturing and delivery practices of TeakCrafts.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or override any mandatory rights or remedies available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, or other applicable Indian law.

Where any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
